Objectives |
Characterisation of edge- and things-centric computing systems: An analysis of envisioned scenarios and current solutions, identifying their potential and limitations.
Research on algorithms and systems for distributed intelligence and adaptability: Determine the building blocks for enhancing edge and things-centric services with machine learning capacity and adaptability, leveraging edge and IoT mesh networks.
Prototypes and implementations: Design and develop the components that provide machine-learning enhancements for integrating edge wireless networks and IoT devices.
Evaluation and validation: The evaluation of the prototypes developed for assessing performance, capacity and limitations of things- and edge-centric computing.
Methodology |
The project applies an experimentally-driven research methodology with a strong emphasis on experimentation in real environments. Therefore, the key work packages are of the type Research, Development and Evaluation, to improve the proposed components, protocols and algorithms.
